Change Management and Leadership

Description

The module covers the following:

  • Planned change: phases, models and development of change theory including Lewin, action research and comparison with emergent approaches.
  • Applying Change Management to projects.
  • Constructive communication, problem solving, conflict management and resolution, coaching and negotiation skills.
  • Dynamics of teams and team building and the role of HR in a project context.
  • Identifying and developing key project leadership skills.

This is a continually assessed module.  It uses integrative assessment with ongoing formative assessments based on case studies and presentations related to their field of study.  Practice based learning is utilised through a case study approach.

The assessments and module delivery are designed to encourage the student to undertake reflective practice in terms of their own leadership and interpersonal skills.

This is an SCQF Level 11 module, and upon successful completion, participants will be awarded 20 credits.
