21st Century Theatre and Performance

Description

The 21st Century Theatre and Performance module provides further context to the theoretical and practical exploration of movements, practitioners, and plays explored in earlier modules, extending the exploration of major 20th century theatre movements to assess their influence on contemporary practice.  The module explores theatre and performance in relation to its wider social, cultural, political, historical, and cultural contexts.  It also examines the role of the 21st century spectator and performance maker, considering how this has been developed over time.

This is an SCQF Level 8 module and upon successful completion, participants will be awarded 20 credits.
