Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) validates associate-level knowledge and skills required to secure Cisco networks. With a CCNA Security certification, a network professional demonstrates the skills required to develop a security infrastructure, recognise threats and vulnerabilities to networks, and mitigate security threats. The CCNA Security curriculum emphasises core security technologies, the installation, troubleshooting and monitoring of network devices to maintain integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and devices, and competency in the technologies that Cisco uses in its security structure.

The CCNA Security course prepares students for the following:

    • Describe the security threats facing modern network infrastructures
    • Secure Cisco routers
    • Implement AAA on Cisco routers using a local router database and external ACS
    • Mitigate threats to Cisco routers and networks using ACLs
    • Implement secure network design, management, and reporting
    • Mitigate common Layer 2 attacks
    • Implement the Cisco IOS firewall feature set
    • Implement the Cisco IOS IPS feature set
    • Implement a site-to-site VPN
    • Implement a remote access VPN

Individuals who want to enhance their CCENT-level skills and expand their career opportunities as network security specialist, security administrator, network security engineer, or information security professionals. The curriculum provides an introduction to the core security concepts and skills needed for installation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of network devices to maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data and devices.
