Business Statistics

Description

The Business Statistics module (ACCT08017) introduces students to key statistical concepts and techniques that are used in business research. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on tutorials, students will learn the following:

  • The normal distribution
  • Sampling and sampling distribution
  • Confidence interval estimation
  • Correlation and Regression
  • Hypothesis testing

On successful completion of this module the student will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of key statistical concepts and techniques
  • Use hypothesis testing to test a mean or proportion
  • Use software to perform statistical analysis and interpret its output

This is an SCQF Level 8 module and upon successful completion, participants will be awarded 20 credits.
