Meet the course presenter
Delivered by experienced academics and practitioners with expertise in digital health, healthcare systems and service improvement.
Dr Sabrina Azzi holds a PhD in Health Informatics, with a research focus on digital health and the application of data-driven technologies to improve healthcare delivery. She has extensive experience in the design and implementation of digital health solutions, with a particular interest in clinical decision support and knowledge management systems.
Dr Azzi was a key contributor to the development of the Software for the Evolution of Knowledge in Medicine (SEKMED), an advanced clinical decision-support system adopted by hospitals in Hull and Gatineau (Canada). This system supports clinicians in sharing knowledge and making evidence-based decisions, contributing to improved patient care and clinical outcomes.
Her work bridges research and practice, equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to engage with and lead digital transformation in healthcare.
Sector and workforce relevance
Digital transformation is a major strategic priority across health and social care systems, with increasing emphasis on digitally enabled services, data-informed decision-making, integrated care and technology-supported workforce innovation. As organisations continue to respond to rising demand, workforce pressures and changing patient expectations, there is growing need for leaders who can confidently support and lead digital change within complex healthcare environments.
This course supports workforce capability development in digital leadership, transformation planning and organisational change across healthcare settings. It is particularly relevant for professionals involved in service improvement, operational leadership, digital implementation, innovation and strategic planning within NHS, health and social care and wider healthcare contexts. The knowledge and practical approaches explored throughout the course support organisations seeking to strengthen digital confidence, innovation capability and long-term transformation readiness across the workforce.
