Assessment

Assessment is designed to help you apply evidence-informed approaches to creating more inclusive and accessible learning environments for neurodivergent individuals.

You will complete two complementary assessments that focus on realistic educational practice. First, you will critically analyse a practice-based vignette, identifying opportunities to improve inclusion and better support neurodivergent learners. You will then develop a learning plan, underpinned by current evidence and relevant education, health or social policy, to address the learning needs identified and promote positive change within your professional setting.

Together, these assessments develop your ability to evaluate professional practice, apply neuro-affirming and trauma-informed approaches, and design practical, evidence-based solutions that enhance inclusive education and lifelong learning.

Applying your learning

Throughout the course, you will:

  • Apply neuro-affirming and trauma-informed approaches to learning, teaching and educational practice
  • Reflect on how current policies, legislation and professional responsibilities influence inclusive lifelong learning
  • Develop practical solutions that improve accessibility, engagement and participation for neurodivergent learners
  • Use evidence and critical reflection to identify opportunities for positive change within your own educational or workplace setting

You will leave with:

  • Greater confidence in creating inclusive, accessible and neuro-affirming learning environments
  • Enhanced capability to design learning experiences that recognise and build on neurodivergent strengths
  • Practical skills to apply evidence-informed approaches that improve educational access, engagement and achievement
  • A stronger ability to influence inclusive practice and contribute to meaningful improvements in education, training and lifelong learning
