Mental Health, Sport and Physical Activity

Description

This module will develop your understanding of the complex relationships between sport, physical activity and mental health.  You will explore mental health and ill-health from a variety of theoretical perspectives with attention given throughout to lived experience and ‘real world’ scenarios.  You will consider physical activity interventions for people experiencing mental health difficulties and explore how to support mental health within elite and professional sport.

This is an SCQF Level 10 module and upon successful completion, participants will be awarded 10 credits.

 

Delivery 

Tutorial slots will be: Mondays 9am to 11am or 12pm to 2pm.

This module will be delivered by Dr David Carless.
