CPD Taster Session: Integrated Care and Support

This taster session explores two modules from our MSc Leading People Centred-Integrated Care Programme: Creating the Conditions for Integrated Care (SCQF Level 11) and Leading and Transforming Together (SCQF Level 11)

Description

This taster session explores two modules from our MSc Leading People Centred-Integrated Care Programme:

  • Creating the Conditions for Integrated Care (SCQF Level 11)

  • Leading and Transforming Together (SCQF Level 11)

Our Creating the Conditions for Integrated Care module provides students with the opportunity to explore the conditions for people-centred integrated care supported through the critical exploration of the key concepts and contexts from a global perspective.  Students undertaking this module will critique policy, governance and the contemporary discourse around theories, approaches and perspectives to create the conditions for people-centred integrated care.

With supported cross-sectoral and interprofessional learning, students explore individual and corporate cultures, values and behaviours that are required to create the conditions for people centred integrated care and support.

The Leading and Transforming Together module seeks to build on students’ existing leadership knowledge and skills in order for them to critically examine the constructs and contexts of leadership within people-centred integrated care, recognising the principles of teamwork.

During this module students will focus on building their resilience, managing conflict within the workplace and across sectors, and further develop skills in leading sustainable change.  Through exploring the literature, the experiences of others and their own role and development students will critically review, consolidate and extend the leadership attributes necessary for the courageous leadership required to aid in transforming health and social care services.

This taster session is a fantastic opportunity to find out more about each of the modules.

This session will be run by Helen Raineya lecturer within the School of Health of Life Sciences and the Programme Lead for the MSc Leading People-centred Integrated Care programme.  Helen has over 18 years of experience within education and prior to this working as a registered nurse within the health sector.  Her most recent educational experiences has been in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate education related to the delivery of integrated care and support and has been teaching in these programme for the past 9 years.  Helen has extensive leadership experience particularly in relation to managing and leading educational programmes.  In the first instance this was in leading and delivery of the BA (Hons) Integrated Health and Social Care programme in which Helen continues to have a key teaching role.  More recently she has developed the MSc Leading People-centred Integrated Care programme which she now leads and delivers within the university.  Both programmes bring students from multiple sectors, which adds to the richness of learning not only from the student’s perspective but also from a personal perspective.

The session will take place on Zoom and is expected to last around 45 minutes including time for questions.

It is free to attend but advanced registration is required.  A link to join the live call will be sent to the email that you have registered with.
