This taster session explores our brand new module ‘The Future of Events’.
No industry has been hit quite as hard by the COVID-19 Pandemic as the Events Industry. For months our theatres, concert halls, stadiums and music venues were forced to close with very little guidance as to when they would re-open.
The Future of Events is a Masters Level CPD course that explores the impact of COVID-19 and other external environmental factors on the events industry and explores how to ensure its future survival, with a particular focus on the use of digital technology. The course examines the impact of external environmental challenges (such as the COVID-19 pandemic) upon the events industry and explores the differing ways in which different types and genre of events around the world have sought to reimagine their offerings to ensure their recovery and future survival. The module also covers the wider policy perspectives and operational challenges of delivering events as the industry emerges from the constraints of COVID-19 into a ‘new normal’.
The taster session is the ideal opportunity to come along and find out more about the course before signing up and learn more about the funding available for the course from a member of the UWS CPD Team.
The session will be run by Theo Tzanidis, Senior Lecturer in Digital Marketing and Dr Matt Frew, Senior Lecturer in Enterprise and Transformational Technologies.
The session is expected to last around 45 minutes including time for a Q&A. The session will take place on Zoom, and a link to join the call will be emailed to you ahead of the event.
The taster session is open to everyone, so if you have a friend, family member or colleague that works in the events industry that may be interested in finding out more about the module, please feel free to share the event information with them.
