CPD Taster Session: Lean Six Sigma

Lean Six Sigma is a certified process improvement and quality management qualification, in three levels: Yellow Belt, Green Belt and Black Belt

Description

Lean Six Sigma is a certified process improvement and quality management qualification, in three levels: Yellow Belt, Green Belt and Black Belt.

Lean Six Sigma is a systematic approach to enhance profitability, productivity, overall business performance and most importantly, customer satisfaction.  It uses a statistical approach and methodology to measure and reduce variation to improve performance and eliminate waste, including defects, over-production, waiting, non-utilised talent, transportation, inventory, motion and extra-processing.

We are now living in an ever-increasingly digital world, and, because of COVID-19, more companies have been forced to adopt a digital-first approach.  Lean Six Sigma is beneficial tool for companies that are seeking to embrace large organisational changes, such as a full digital transformation, as it can assist in driving simplification, automation and digitisation of processes.

Join us on Tuesday 3rd August for a live session with UWS academics to understand how your organisation could benefit from gaining certification from one of the leading providers of Lean Six Sigma training in Scotland.

This session will be run by Dr Farhad Anvari.  Dr Anvari has a wide range of expertise in different areas of Engineering Management and Manufacturing Technology and has managed over 100 projects successfully.  His PhD is in Mechanical Engineering, Through-life Engineering Services, from The University of Manchester.  He is the programme leader for BEng (Hons) Engineering Management here at UWS.

The session is expected to last around 45 minutes.

The taster session is free to attend but advanced registration is required.  A link to join the session will be sent to the email that you have registered with.
