Dr Adelaide Marzano is a senior lecturer in manufacturing systems. She completed an award-winning PhD in Mechanical Systems Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy, in 2008. She has published one book and 20 peer reviewed journal and conference publications in the domain of Virtual Modelling of Advanced Manufacturing Systems. She is a respected educator utilizing creative approaches to inspire students across media while advancing research objectives. Highly experienced in the addition of advanced engineering within PLM tools to facilitate use of realistic part forms for advanced composite assembly processes, the application of simulation methods for improved integration of automated systems and life cycle planning for advanced transport systems.
Dr Farhad Anvari has over 20 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry with a wide range of expertise in Engineering Management such as TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality and Kaizen. He holds degrees in Electronic, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering and is a certified ISO 9000 Assessor and a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Farhad has provided training and implementation methods in areas of Maintenance Engineering, Quality and Project Management and Hoshin Kanri. His current research activities include Through-life Engineering, Industry 4.0 and Sustainable Operations.

Dr Michele Cano, Head of Engineering at the University of the West of Scotland, is a leading expert in Quality Management and Lean Manufacturing and has delivered courses in these fields to students, professionals, and industry, nationally and internationally. She has been programme Leader for the successful MSc Quality Management and Project Management programmes for over ten years and prior to that for the BSc Quality Management and Technology (Manufacturing) programme. As a Mechanical and Manufacturing engineer with experience across a range of industry sectors (including shipbuilding where she worked in Design, Production and Planning after her apprenticeship), Michele understands the requirements of the industry sector and has delivered CPD short courses for industry throughout her career in the international market. She is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Dr Robin Ion is a Mental Health Nurse and Senior Lecturer in Mental Health at UWS. He has extensive experience in the design, delivery and review of mental health nurse education.
Professor Ross Deuchar is an expert social scientist, with research in youth crime, policing and social justice. He is particularly interested in mindfulness and the application of techniques to manage emotion. He is also a newly qualified Mindfulness coach and teacher after completing training with Mindfulness Scotland.
