Waste & Materials Management (two sessions)

Description

These two sessions will address the basic principles of waste and resource management, from the perspective of an Environmental Clerk of Works. 

We will cover:

  • Waste management:
    • Brief overview of legal framework
    • Site waste management plan good practice
    • WTN disposal routes – and how to identify if a facility is licensed to accept the waste
    • Materials management:
      • CL:AIRE
      • Recycled aggregate
      • Use of materials – certainty of use and illegal disposal
      • Contaminated land & land remediation

Overview

Sessions will be led by industry and academic experts; delegates will be required to participate through a combination of interactive activities, discussion forums, break out groups and case study development.  The main sessions will be hosted on Zoom so a reliable internet connection, web camera and microphone will be required.  Sessions will be recorded and then posted in a secure site for delegates to access and review at a later date.
