Introduction to the Environmental Clerk of Works role

Description

This three hour session will provide an introduction to the statutory role of the Environmental Clerk of Works, and consider the implications and expectations of the position. 

We will cover:

  • Why does the role exist:
    • Planning conditions, best practice and compliance
  • The aim of the role
    • Scope creep
    • Managing conflicts of interest
  • The position within a wider project group
  • Typical onsite expectations of environmental management
  • Case study

Overview

Sessions will be led by industry and academic experts; delegates will be required to participate through a combination of interactive activities, discussion forums, break out groups and case study development. 

The main sessions will be hosted on Zoom so a reliable internet connection, web camera and microphone will be required.  Sessions will be recorded and then posted in a secure site for delegates to access and review at a later date.
