These qualifications are aimed at practising middle managers and those aspiring to senior management positions, and wish to develop their core management skills and practices. Recognised at Level 8 on the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework, the objectives of these qualifications is to develop personal management capabilities, make effective use of information in decision-making, operations and the development of the skills in managing people.
The CMI SCQF Level 8 Certificate in Management and Leadership aims to develop the role and skills of managers. The Certificate allows the student to choose from the comprehensive range of units listed below for study, with each unit assessed by written assignment. Units are taught by our highly experienced tutor in a weekly evening class at our Paisley campus and Lanarkshire campus, subject to demand.
To attain a CMI SCQF Level 8 Certificate in Management and Leadership, any combination of three units from the Course Content section listed below may be selected to a minimum of 13 credits, with attendance at either our Paisley or Lanarkshire campus, subject to demand.
Learners completing the Certificate may progress to the Diploma. Learners successfully completing the Diploma with 70 SCQF credits at Level 8 can progress to one of our undergraduate degree programmes by utilising Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Alternatively, entry is available to the CMI SCQF Level 11 Diploma in Strategic Management and Direction.
