Kick Start Workshop Series: Creativity & Innovation

Look at things from a different perspective and try out something new

Description

The Kick Start Programme will be returning this January and February 2022 with a series of brand-new, innovative workshops.  The Kick Start programme is student innovation programme designed by the University of the West of Scotland, which goes beyond classroom-based learning, focusing on providing students with the knowledge and skillset to recognise that innovation and entrepreneurship is a powerful way to implement change within their chosen sectors.  We are calling all students and graduates who are interested in something different, who are keen to unleash those creative, innovative, and unique ideas whilst developing a reusable skillset that will be beneficial for the future.

All workshops be available to all of our students, staff and recent graduates at the University of the West of Scotland.

Join our new Creativity & Innovation workshop and develop an understanding of the relationship between innovation, creativity & entrepreneurship!

Creativity isn't about just painting a picture or composing a piece of music, it is about looking at things from a different perspective and trying out something new even if you're unsure if it is going to work and thinking outside of the box.  Innovation on the other hand, refers to something such as an invention, or the practice of developing and introducing new things.  It can relate to developing a new product/service, but it can also be a new way of doing something or even a new way of thinking.

This workshop will focus on both creativity and innovation, helping participants develop an understanding of the relationship between innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship allowing them to devise solutions to specific challenges.  Market test tools will be introduced and applied to test your ideas in the marketplace by employing a framework to evaluate the extent of business opportunity.
