The PMQ preparation course is delivered as a self-paced, online programme. Participants work through the course on our dedicated virtual learning environment, which offers:
Individuals are also invited to join live exam preparation Q&A support classes at no extra charge.
The course requires around 15 hours of study (plus revision time).
The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification syllabus assesses the key elements of the project management life cycle and covers knowledge areas from the APM Body of Knowledge, including planning and scheduling, communication, teamwork, resource management, project risk management and project reviews.
The PFQ is assessed via a 60 question multiple-choice exam. You can choose to take the exam with us at the end of the course, or equally you can choose to book your exam directly with APM at https://www.apm.org.uk/event/. One attempt at the exam is included in the course fee; the exam is delivered and monitored remotely.
Those who have completed this course may then qualify to move onto the Project Management Qualification (PMQ) for more experienced project managers.
How long do I have to complete the course?
You will have eight weeks to access the materials from your course start date, and arrange with us to book your exam. Exams will be available to book - you will be able to choose a time and date to suit you, and the exams are taken remotely in the comfort of your own home.
