    This two day workshop will equip delegates with practical tools and techniques to manage their projects effectively.

    Detailed Description

    Develop the aims, objectives and scope of the project for approval from a project sponsor:

    • Why projects fail and what makes them successful
    • The stages of project development - from feasibility to completion
    • The importance of SMART objectives and clarifying, agreeing them with the sponsor
    • The interests of all internal and external stakeholders
    • How projects interlink with and support internal strategic and operational objectives
    • How projects can be affected by external factors and events

    Develop project plans to achieve agreed objectives:

    • The importance of agreeing and recording the project plans with relevant people
    • The limits of authority of personnel in relation to the project
    • Project planning tools and models
    • Contingency planning principles

    Identifying project resources and control methods:

    • Roles, competencies, responsibilities and accountabilities of the project team
    • The importance of project reporting for different stages of the project
    • The need for effective financial and resource control

    Evaluating effectiveness of the project:

    • The five steps to evaluation
    • The importance of evaluation to the organisation
    • The areas to evaluate for lessons learned
